Regenerative Agriculture: Met with a Massive Yawn by a Prominent Bakery Manager

Oh, Dear!

Just a few milliseconds into the New Year and already the cynicism sets in!

We’ve made a huge commitment at Joy of Keto and the Lakeview Gluten-Free Bakery (which is under new/old management by Master Baker Brian Hinton).

We’ve promised to do everything possible to support principles of Regenerative Agriculture in our plant-based food industry. That means, in particular, looking very closely at the processes used on farms that grow cocoa, coconut and almonds, among other ingredients that we use on a regular basis.

It’s a massive issue for anyone in the food industry and we’ve made a commitment to this new way of doing business. It will take some doing but we’re already encouraged by recent developments in the California almond industry.

So we were a bit depressed when a senior bakery manager greeted our announcement with a massive yawn.

                          Regenerative Agriculture: A Massive Yawn?

Please do not do that!

We ask or customers: please do not do that!

Tell us what you want from a small bakery in Calgary!

Tell us how you’d like us to be ethical and sustainable — AND also to continue to meet your needs.

We want to engage in Honest Business at the Lakeview Gluten-Free Bakery on 90th Avenue. We want to support sustainable agriculture.

We believe that there is a global climate emergency happening now and we want to be part of the solution — not to contribute to the problem.

So, please! No massive yawns!

Let’s have a good adult conversation about sustainability in the baking industry. Please do tell us your thoughts about the ingredients in our products and where they come from.
